06/01/2010 - TC Christian Welcomes New Administrator!
Please join us in welcoming our new Administrator, Anthony ‘Tony’ Clymer. Tony is a native of Tennessee and was formerly Superintendent of Freedom Christian Schools in the Grand Rapids area. He begins serving in his official capacity on July 1, but is already out and about on both campuses.
By way of personal introduction, Tony shares this about his family:
“My wife, Melanie, and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 19 years. I have experience in land surveying, but followed God's call to use my gifts and talents in teaching, coaching, and administration. Melanie has used her Bachelor of Social Work degree working with children and youth in the foster care system. I enjoy reading, computers, sci-fi movies, and have a passion for learning. Melanie enjoys scrap-booking, shopping consignment sales, and inspirational reading. Together, we enjoy traveling and trying new restaurants."
Melanie's father (Don) is a Southern Baptist pastor and her mother (Reba) is the church pianist and youth director.
Tony's dad (Bud - not short for anything) is a retired land surveyor, and step-mother (Betty) is retired from The Gospel Advocate- publisher, magazine. They all reside in Middle Tennessee.
Tony’s approach to education is summed up in Proverbs 22:6:
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
A favorite quote comes from early American statesman and famed abolitionist, Frederick Douglass:
"It is easier to build strong children than to fix broken men."
Tony and Melanie have three children:
- Kaelyn Nicole (12), going into 7th grade. Kaelyn is creative and has a passion for horses. She enjoys drama, swimming and rollerblading.
- Anthony Garrett aka Garrett (8), going into 3rd grade. Garrett is outgoing, personable and full of energy. He shows an interest in basketball and enjoys swimming and rollerblading.
- Evan Stone (6), going into 1st grade. Evan is our little comedian. He enjoys swimming and riding his bike.
“My family and I believe the Lord has called us to TC Christian, and we’re excited to be joining your ‘family’ of parents, students and staff.”
When you see Tony (and/or Melanie and their children) in your travels, please extend a warm TC Christian welcome.
FYI - Tony likes coffee and BBQ!
